Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services is dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive campus community. We provide comprehensive, University-wide violence prevention education and confidential services for members of our Carolina community impacted by harassment, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence, and stalking.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a time recognized nationally and by UNC to raise awareness, support each other, highlight resources, and work together to prevent sexual assault and sexual misconduct at Carolina. Throughout the month, Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services and campus resources are hosting events for students and employees to connect, learn, and get involved. 2026 Campus Hazing Prevention Survey

UNC-Chapel Hill is part of a national hazing prevention study focused on hazing prevention and building safer student groups, organizations, and teams for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
