Building a Safer Campus, Together
Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and respected on campus. Violence isn’t just a single act—it impacts the wellbeing of individuals, relationships, and Carolina as a whole. Taking a socioecological and multidisciplinary approach means looking at the bigger picture: how individual choices, peer groups, campus culture, and broader systems all connect. By working at every level, we can strive to foster a campus environment where respect, care, and accountability are the norm.

Your Role Matters
Creating real change takes all of us. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors to Carolina each have an important role in preventing violence. Whether it’s looking out for friends, speaking up, using available resources, or joining prevention efforts, every action makes a difference. This isn’t just about programs or policies—it’s about how we show up for each other every day. That’s why our It Takes All Heels campaign reminds us that prevention is a shared responsibility—and that when each of us takes action, together we create a safer, stronger, and more connected campus.

Check out the different violence prevention initiatives below to learn more about the resources, opportunities, and ways to get involved with our violence prevention efforts.
