One Act

One ACT is a bystander intervention training available to any student or faculty member at UNC, but intended primarily for undergraduate and graduate students. The training teaches participants how to identify different types of violence and harassment, equips them with multiple strategies for intervening in potentially violent situations, and guides them through a number of realistic scenarios of potentially violent situations so that they may develop their intervention skills. The One ACT curriculum also includes a comprehensive discussion around consent and information on how implicit bias affects the willingness of bystanders to intervene in potentially harmful situations.
