Raise the Bar

Raise the Bar (RTB) is a collaboration between UNC’s Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services, UNC’s Carolina Behavioral Assessment and Management, Chapel Hill Police, and the Campus & Community Coalition.

Raise the Bar is a one-hour workshop designed to help staff in restaurants, bars, and other alcohol-serving establishments around UNC identify signs of interpersonal violence and other concerning behaviors, while providing them with practical skills and strategies to intervene safely and effectively.

Training Opportunities

Raise the Bar is offered in conjunction with the Chapel Hill Police Department’s Be A Responsible Server (BARS) training, which focuses on NC alcohol laws and alcohol safety. Trainings are offered on the second Monday of every month.

For local Chapel Hill establishments interested in scheduling a training for your team, please email violenceprevention@unc.edu
